In our appearance we show our opinions about ourselves, show respect for what we are doing, and show respect for those with whom we spend our time. We dress up when we take something or someone seriously, and through our appearance we communicate that respect. Clothes can distract and prevent others from devoting their energy and attention to their schoolwork. Our goal is to minimize such distractions and to cultivate an atmosphere of studiousness and decorum and a healthy respect for school, for teachers, for fellow students, and for ourselves.

White, navy, or black knee-high socks, tights, or leggings are worn with the jumper and skirt. A white undershirt may be worn. A long-sleeved undershirt may not be worn under a short-sleeved uniform shirt. The hem of the jumper or skirt should reach the top of the knee.
The uniform pants are worn with the crested uniform shirt, the uniform tie, black socks, and a black belt. Shirts must be tucked in properly. A white undershirt may be worn. A long-sleeved undershirt may not be worn under a short-sleeved uniform shirt. Pants should be worn at the waist; they should reach the shoe but not the ground. K-2 may wear elastic waist trousers. Kindergartners’ ties are collected by teachers and distributed on special occasions such as picture day. Students in Grades 1 and up get to wear ties daily as part of the uniform.
Students must wear closed-toe, closed-heel, entirely black shoes. Athletic shoes are highly recommended for students in grades K-5, as they will wear these to recess.
The uniform cardigan (with crest) and blazer (K-8 no crest) are optional and may be worn inside and outside of the school. We recommend writing your child’s name on the tag so that it can be returned if lost. Students may not wear non-uniform outerwear such as non-uniform sweaters, jackets, and hats in school. Student must remove non-uniform items upon entering the school building.
Backpacks and other accessories may be any color or pattern, with the exception of pop culture characters, neon colors, or large brand logos.
Students in Grade 7 and up dress out for P.E. Gym uniforms should be navy basketball-style shorts and a gray t-shirt. Approved spirit wear t-shirts may also be worn. For gym uniforms, items may be purchased from any vendor.
Students in Grades 2-6 do not dress out for P.E. but should bring an extra pair of athletic shoes of any color for P.E. These shoes are stored in the gymnasium; please label them with your child’s name. Kindergartners and first-graders do not bring a change of shoes but should choose all-black uniform shoes that are appropriate for active play and running.
Hair must be clean, well-groomed, conservatively styled, non-distracting, and of a natural color. Boys’ hair may not cover the shirt collar. Boys’ and girls’ hair may not cover the eyes.
Girls may wear one pair of non-dangling earrings and non-distracting hair accessories.
All students are required to be in their proper uniform whenever they are on campus before, during, and after the normal school day. If a student’s attire or grooming is not proper, a student may be removed from class until the problem is fixed. A student who is repeatedly out of uniform will be disciplined. When the uniform is worn, even off campus, it should be worn with pride, with the shirt tucked in, the tie on, and shoes laced.
